Build Date From Engine Number?

Couple of questions, is there a source that you can find the build date of your engine by the engine number?

The other question is, where is the engine number stamped and is it in an easily visible area?

I think the vin number is the engine number. Here is a thread

The engine number is somewhere on the bottom of the engine.

You car's build date is on the sticker on the drivers door sill. It will give month and year.

The engine serial number will not give much info other than the sequence will verify that it is from the same model year - not much more.
