Tiptronic shift problem

Problem on my '99 Carrera Tiptronic.

The shift between D - M becomes very loose , I turn into accidentaly shift it when I drive.

Any idea? How to fix it.

It's the shift lever, loose when move between (D) and (M).

Hmm... there are two cables but they only are affected on forward and back movement. Unless the center pivot is somehow loose?

The shift cover pops off. Use a flat, blunt instrument to get under the edges and lift up. The cover is held in by clips. You'll need to remove the shift nob in advance to slide the cover off.

Problem solved:

One pin near the center pivot was falls off. It cased the shifting freely from Drive and Manual.

You need to remove the center console and disassembly the whole Tiptronic unit to fix this problem.
