Any Idea what the best and worst case scenario of cost to have clutch replaced in my 01 996TT. dont need currently just curious what future cost is going to be. car has 22k miles and i think around 30k is when I might need the work done? Sound correct?

thanks

I replaced my clutch at about 217'000 km (134'000 miles). Details here. Do you really need to replace yours after only 30k miles?

Not sure at all anymore, but I think the clutch replacement only would have cost me like CHF 3'500-4'000 (USD 3'000-3'500). But again, I'm not sure at all, sorry.

when I took my 01 911TT in for spring service my clutch was looked at because it seemed stiff. It was still very tolerable in traffic but it was getting progressively worse. The car has never been raced or on a track so I wasn't expecting to get a new clutch. I only picked up the car in April '09 and the car had only 26,000 km when I took it in to Porsche this past March. They took a look at it and replaced the clutch system accumulator for $550 cdn. The clutch now feels lighter and better than my Accord's clutch ever did and it light and easy in traffic. Unbelievable even with a 1.5 hr commute at 10-20km/hr.

Canada: I ordered stronger clutch with lightweight fw from Kevin at UMW for about $2000 USD. With all taxes about $2500 CAD. I was quoted labour from $1200 to $2000 CAD. When actually doing replacement there were few more seals, clutch slave cylindar, in the end it was about $5000CAD tax in. Without lfw, budget at least $3500, up to $6000 for 'works'. But now I need also pentosin reservoir changed, so there goes another grand or two...

My car is 125Km, first clutch change.

Cheers,

Z.

In the USA, I figure it would be 10-20% cheaper than my CAN numbers...

BTW, I love clutch/lightweight flywheel setup from Kevin @ Ultimate Motorwerks...

For decades, Porsche has recommended running a dose of Techron in their cars for this exact purpose.  We have used it in the shop literally since we opened, it does not harm cats.

I changed Mine at 150,000KM and upgraded to the 764 Pressure Plate. 16 Hours labour @ $140 AUD Porsche indy workshop. About $5500 all up with the actuator and Brake BOM replacement. Drives like new now and boosts up to 0.3 in 1st. Crazy fast!

Best prices on 100% Sachs clutch kit for the 996TT is on eBay.  It seems a Sach distributor is selling them below what I know a couple Porsche parts distributors can buy them at..
