Question: How do I get the shift knob off on an RS 60 boxster. There does not appear to be a center disk to lift (e.g. on other models it appears the shift pattern circle shaped piece at the top of the knob needs to be pried off to access torx screws below. So far it does not appear that the RS 60 shift knob is constructed in the same manner. Anyone got experience with this?

With the price of a new shift knob at over 700 uk pounds , about 1200 USD I think I would ask porsche directly on how to remove it.

No the shift pattern center top does not come off unlike the base knob. the shift knob just pulls straight off - but you have to undo the plastic collar under the leather shift boot first.

Just pull up on the knob - turns out to be the answer - the center does NOT pop out like other models!

Don't ask me how i learned this.
