can anyone help ,i have a 2.5 boxster we fitted a child seat with a deactivation bar that was 3 years ago,we have now took it out but the light is still on ,whats going on?

Unfortunately you need to have the airbag circuit re-programmed to function without the deactivation bar.

Any shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can do this for you in about 5 minutes.

Jarvis/Loren, I have the same issue with the airbag light being on after taking the airbag out to reinforce the rubber bushings on the retaining frame. Are there any forum members in the San Fernando Valley with a PST2 or PIWIS who would be willing to reset the light for me? I called up a local shop and they wanted $100 which seems a bit steep.

You can also use the Durametric Tool to reset the airbag in your case besides a PST2 or PIWIS tester.

Actually, in this case I believe the Durametric will not work because the problem is not a fault, but a system coding issue, which requires a PST II or PIWIS to correct.
