Hi Guys,

Everyone has been so helpful here. I posted a post previously about my rear spoiler on my C4S and everyone had great recommendations. The problem ended up being a bad instrument panel so had to shell out money for a new instrument cluster $$.

I have a question and I've been a little worried. One day I was in 3rd gear entering the highway and revved the motor to 6000rpm (WOT) and then a huge white cloud formed behind the car from the exhaust ( I mean enough white smoke to slow everyone behind me). After that the car still ran fine though it felt like it hesitated a little in gear. Right after wards the car seemed to run fine and I haven't floored the accelerator since but now that it has been about 3 months of regular driving, everything seems fine and I get no smoke when I start the car or anything. I've been reading through the forum regarding the AOS problem, oil leaking into the engine, etc... I am not sure if I have a problem I need to worry about or if I should get this checked out at the dealer.

By the way, it never happened again.

Also, any good Porsche independent shops anyone can recommend in NJ area?

Thank you,

John

my guess is that its been winter and the car hasnt been driven and it was just "cleaning its tubes," so to speak, upon emerging from hibernation.

AOS could be in the early stages of failing but also over time oil collects in intake manifold and under WOT enough air flow is present to cause the oil to be ingested into the combustion chamber which is normal.
