I recently purchased a 99 911 with 35k on it. The person who owned the vehicle prior to me mainly had the car in storage. Since my purchase I took the car into the Stugart's where the car has been maintained. The tech advised me that I needed to do an oil change and brake flush. Good thing is the previous owner took extremely detailed records of service on this car and the car has been driven less than 1500 miles since the oil and brake fluid has been changed. Do I still need to have this changed especially since they want over $700? Thanks

K, the question is how long has the car been sitting idle? It should not affect the oil that much if it's not been more than 6 months to a year but it will affect the brake fluid greatly as it does break down. That being said $700.00 is a bit steep for the service you might require. You could do the oil easily enough for under $75.00 in supplies and parts. If you are uncomfortbale dealing with the brakes that would be a service the shop could easily take care of for you. It should not be more than 1.5 hours tops 2 of time plus supplies which should come in around $200 to maybe $300 depending on the shops labor rate.

Good luck..
