I am looking for some advice. I am really interested in a 99 Porsche Boxster with 90,000 miles, 5 speed convertibel. I will be travelling out to see the car and kick the tires. While I am fairly mechanically inclined I do not know much about Porsche Boxsters. Can someone give me some advice on where to look for signs of serious problems so I can reasonably be aware of expensive repair costs?

Thanks!

Here is some indispensable reading for you, before you go out and kick the tires on that Boxster: http://sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/buyingorsellinga1997-2004boxster

Once you have read the info, and have gone out and looked at the car you have in mind, post again here with specific questions. The collective wisdom will help you make the right decision.

Regards, Maurice.

Besides searching here for lots of topics on problems to look for, and reading all the great info on Mike Focke's collection of Boxster wisdom, keep in mind Porsche made lots and lots of Boxsters over the years. If the one you're looking at doesn't do it for you, there are many more to choose from.

Also, take a look at Excellence Magazine's great annual market update on Boxsters to get an idea of year-by-year changes and price trends - most recent one was November 2009
