Hi. Have 01 Boxster S 56k , sometimes it will not start , it cranks but will not fire up. came back an hour or two later starts right up runs perfect no smoke upon start up . anyone have an idea where I should to look. Thank You

Try checking your flywheel reference sender. You really need an oscilloscope to check it which not a lot of people have. Anyhow I have seen a couple of failing flywheel senders cause this type of scenario... car runs perfect but after driving it a while and coming back to start it it will crank but not start.

You might need the updated ignition lock/switch assembly. When ours went, it did exactly the same thing yours is doing. Having said that, you might also check to see if your immobilizor under the driver's seat is wet, or faulty.

Start by checking for fault codes. There are so many variables that we need to narrow things down if we can.
