I had a radiator leak and changed the radiator on my MY97 Boxster. Now when I started the car and let it run for a few minutes and then turned it off I could see that water was coming from the engine somewhere around the passengers side rear tire. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Also, I accidentally put too much water in the system when I refilled the system. Could this have caused the problem?

You need to purge all of the air from the system, otherwise a pocket of air expanding with heat will dump most of the coolant again.

You can find my DIY instructions, here:

Scroll down to the middle of the page for the air bleeding instructions.

Happy Boxstering,

I had a similar problem with my 98 2.5, the water was running down the overflow and all over the exhaust manifold. It took me forever to work out where it was coming from, what with the limited access and visibility in the engine bay. Anyway, I replaced the coolant bottle cap (for the latest version) and also the pressure relief valve and problem solved. Parts cost about £30 (GBP) from my local OPC. Hope this helps. Dave.
