My oil temperature gage reads 0 Degrees. The gage does not move.

I am getting a oil indicator faulty signal when I start the car.

Does the oil pressure sender have anything to do with the temperature?

I also cannot read my oil level.

Thanks for any help.

Maybe the oil level tranducer with temperature sensor is

bad or is diconnected.

Any one know where this is on the motor?

Through the engine bloc into the oil sump, under the intake manifold.

If I remove the throttle body, can I then reach it?

Thanks for your reply.

I just got off the phone with Sunset Imports. The oil

level was only $39.38 but I would also need 6 intake

runners at $4.5 a piece.

I was told that the air plenum had to come off before installing

the new oil level. The tranducer cannot be bent went installing

or it will not work.

Removing the air plenum is alot of work.

Paul,

If you do have to make this repair do not be concerned about the difficulty removing the Plenum. It's actually quite easy. I replaced the stock plenum on my 996 and it was a simple job. You just have to make sure you line up everything properly when you re-install it.

Good luck and I hope you get to the bottom of your issue.

As I recall... oil filter side - so that would be the right case half side.

Got an estimate for $325.

Looks like I will pull the trigger real soon.

I could do this work but I feel alot more confident

having a professional do this.

The car fixed itself!!!

I made the appointment and I was driving to the repair shop to

drop it off. I looked down at the gage when I was about half way there

and it was working fine.

It was almost like taking a kid (my Porsche) to the doctors.
