Hey Everyone,

I recently purchased a 99 Boxster and i am having an issue with the car locking.

With both the Door lock and the Remote i'll lock the car and it will. Lock, then unlock straight away and i get the 2 horn bleeps telling me theres an issue.

Has anyone had this problem before or knows of a reason for it doing this?

Cheers,

Nathan

Two beeps means an alarm issue, let the car check on fault codes first, without codes it's guessing.

If your door lock mechanism is faulty, the car will unlock itself and give you the double beep.

I have seen that at my shop multiple times.

On a few occasions we've been able to repair a broken cable or connector, but most of the time we end up replacing the faulty mechanism.

Happy Boxstering,

Pedro

As has been said, it is most likely a fault in the door lock mechanism - probably a broken microswitch.  As a temporary measure you can lock the car with the key by turning it to the lock position and back to centre 3 times in quick succession.
