Hi, tried searching to see if anyone has posted anything on this. I have a really annoying rattle coming from the back pf my 996 coupe. I thought originally it was the rear sear s rattling but my som got in the back of the car and he says it is coming from above, ie in the headlining. Anyone else experienced this, is there a fix.... it is driving me mad

Thanks

Simon

Is the rattle still there with the roof in tilted possition ? If not, the rectangular roof trim is the culprit (rattle with roof closed). If yes, the roof cross-member, under the headliner, behind the roof unit is detached from the roof plate (hollow drum sound)

When my sunroof is opened, I get the hollow drum sound. Any suggestion on how to reattachthe roof unit to the roof plate? Thanks

This is done with an adhesive paste (looks like front window adhesive) between the cross beam and the roof plate, accessible after removing the roof liner at the rear window.
