Wear Spots On 2007 Boxster Top With 10K Miles

I recently purchased a 2007 Base Boxster with 10k miles on the clock. I noticed one inch long abrasions on both the right and left side of the top at the curved portions aft of the door glass and to the sides of the rear glass, kind of in the middle of this area. Is this normal before I take it to the dealer?

I have same year same problem. Dealer said it is normal wear and that the top will not last forever. But no advice on preventing this. ON MINE IT SEEMS TO OCCUR BY THE FOLD AT THAT POINT RUBBING AGAINST NEARBY TOP MATERIAL. Some suggest treating the top which I have been negligent about but will do in the very near future. I may try inserting some slippery material when folding the top if I plan to keep it folded for any lenght of time.
