I have a 1999 996 C2 and am interested if anyone out there has tried an after market front or rear strut tower brace and what results they have had from them?

A waster of money IMHO.

GT3 Cup Cars use the same strut brace you already have.

Your money might be better spent on a sport suspension or RoW (lower) sport suspension. Again - IMHO

That sounds reasonable Loren, my money would probably be better spent on driving lessons but I'm just curios if anyone has actually put them on their car and what difference they noticed if any. Just curios!

I use both on my Boxster and they make a noticeable improvement in crispness of handling. But they also increase the harshness of the ride. I can't imagine that the front of the 996 is much more rigid than the Boxster given that it uses almost all of the same parts.

Makes no difference on 996's etc. If you remove the plastic covers on your 996, you will see that there are already strut supports incorporated into the uni-body construction for that reason.

If you like the look of a bar running across your bonnet get one...Otherwise I agree with Loren...Spend your money on something you will actually notice.
