Hi all,

I tried to do a search about hacking a Canadian Porsche 996 and modify the DRL on the forum but I cannot find any. Please direct me to the posts if it was already discussed. All I can found was DRL hack a US car to enable DRL.

Anyways, long story short, MY01 996 is a Canadian car and have the DRL which turn on low beam, side markers, rear lights. I want to know how easy is it to modify the DRL on a Canadian car to either use the fog light as DRL or if I decide to add a pair of LED light bars and wire them to the side markers, in this case disable the low beam as the DRL so I can have the LED lights for DRL.

If someone here have done it before, please let me know how you and what needs to be done.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Remove your DRL relay and install a universal DRL module which you can wire into what ever lights you choose. Your local parts store should carry the kits.

Thanks wvicary! That sounds very easy. One more silly question, "local parts store" means local dealership's part store or do you mean stores like "lordco"? :) Thank you again!

I know Parts Source sells a good universal kit as well as Canadian Tire. The kits are easy to install and come with good instructions.

Is this the kit you are referring to?

I note the package says "Full Voltage, All lights" - so I'm sure this would work with xenons, and thus the litronics, no?
