Hi All,

I have just replaced my Left side Turbocharger (Cyl 5-8) on my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The CEL came on after i replaced it. I put it through a tester and the fault code was 'P1248 Basic Boost Pressure'. I have checked the parts that i dismantled to replace the Turbocharger, all the parts are assembled properly. Does anyone knows what the fault code meant?

The Turbo was replaced because there we engine oil leaking through it.

I am not sure whether the fault code existed before i replaced the turbo. The thing is that the fault code cannot be erased. The turbo is working fine, had tested it on high speed. My concern was that the fault code cannot be erased. Just worried that there will be side effect.

Sorry I couldn't find reference to that code. If there are no fault codes and the vehicle appears to be running well then I wouldn't worry about it. After the readiness codes are set and all adaption values reached the code might clear on it's own.

Today my Porsche Cayenne turbo 2008 as same your car. check engine light On, and fault code is P1248 (Basic boost pressure adaption)- I understood that the value of boost pressure will adjust Turbo charge through DFI module. But I don't know how to re-adaption by my PIWIS. Can some one help me to fix it?

were you ever able to fix this? if so how?

If you have this code, you have a boost leak somewhere that needs to be fixed.  Sometimes, tracking these down can be tricky.  You can check your charge hoses (after the IC), the diverter valves, N75, and plenum - but if that doesn't reveal anything obvious, you'll need to take it to the dealer to have them pressure test it.
