After lots of time and some expense, I am convinced that I will never get the top to operate properly without spending a fortune. I have tried everything with the help of many at various forums. Even the mechanic at the local dealership said that the tops should just be operated manually. It's very easy to do, except for one thing -- securing the clam shell tightly over the open or closed top so the seals are set.

Has anyone ever come up with a way to manually secure the clam shell tightly? Also, is there a way to shut off the idiot light on the dash?

Thanks.

I have never seen it done. What has failed on your top? Most repairs are not that expensive but you don't give the year of your vehicle.

The v-bracket snapped. In stead of opening, the top continued to close until there was enough pressure to snap the v-bracket. I am lucky that is all that broke. I think the problem may be with the b-pillar switch, but who knows. Anyway, thanks.
