I have a tip, but I drive it manual (switching on the steering wheel). The car did this several times today over a long drive of about 280 miles:

Several times the revs wen up without me doing anything and having a steady foot. The same revs as I was accelerating from 60 to 65 mph, for example.

I thought it might be the transmission changing gears... but I was going in manual and it was not a gear change, just the throttle. Once they went up, the stayed. I had no luck replicating the issue. Although I think it was happening when I was between 3 and 4k rpm.

Any ideas?

Loren,

What fluid level? How can whatever fluid level affect the throttle? ?? I am taking it in, but I'd like to learn what you mean.

Thanks,

If the revs are going up without you moving the throttle then it is likely the transmission is slipping.

Slipping can be caused by low fluid level or a problem with the transmission.

Yep. That's what I don't want to hear, any problems with the tiptronic transmission not that I rebuilt the engine. Curiously, the trannie was fine until they changed the fluid at the 90k service a month ago.

I have heard that you cannot service Tips. Hopefully either that is not true, or there is nothing wrong.
