Just joined the Forum (thank you Renntech), does anyone have a thread reference for heater problems (blows hot when turned to lowest setting).

I got stuck in a nasty traffic jam. moved up 1/2 car length at a time for over 20 minutes. Couldn't pull out nor park. The oil temp was higher than I had ever seen it (2/3's above 1st mark). After I got onto the freeway and cooled it off, the heater started blowing hot air (in spite of the temp being set at lowest position). The heater has never given me problems in the past. My guess is the air valve seals melted, but I only remember seeing a schematic of how it works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Robert,

I have the same problem. I found a site on the internet that might help. There are two (left/right) servo's that stear the hot/cool air valve.

http://www.porsche964.co.uk/technical/servos.htm

It helped me so far that I know that servo no. 2 is broken (left side vent was only blowing hot air). I checked the servo, cleaned it and a'm now trying to get it back in. Adjusting the valve setting is the problem now.... Does anyone have some tips????

Hope this will help you.

Regards,

Peter
