Just wondering if anyone has used one of these alarm clips. It clips into the convertible top latch when the top is down to make the car think that the top is up. I didn't realize this, but, there are motion sensors near the home link buttons that activate when the alarm is armed and the top is up. I guess the sensors are there in case someone tries to cut through the top (?). It sounds like a good idea, but does it work well?

Thanks,

Porsche part number 986.504.986.00 Alarm Clip - US MSRP $2.54 <--- that is list price at your dealer.

Most folks use them to alarm the car with the top down.

+1 for Red Clip, works well. Once installed and the alarm is set, any intrusion into the driver/passenger compartment the alarm will go off after a 1-2 second delay.

Just remember to remove it when you try to put your top back up. When I first got my car, I couldn't figure why the switch wouldn't bring the top back up. First emergency brake and now the red clip. Go figure????

Thanks for the tip, Loren. I ordered one from Pelican for $2.54 + a nominal shipping fee.
