Just ran a Durametric(Ver 6) scan of my new 2010 C2S with PDK. Results showed Fault Codes C418 (associated with the PDK) and 8005 (associated with Porsche Access System (PAS)). The PAS code offered explanation: Terminal S -- Upper Limit Value Exceeded (???). The PDK code offered no explanation.

Interesting, there is no notification given on the console of these faults and no unusual vehicle characteristics have been noticed. My next step is to reset all fault codes to see if they disappear, but wanted to get a reading from the forum of possible alternate actions/information. Yes, I know the dealer is an option, but here in Silicon Valley, I just do not trust any.

Any help would be appreciated with this newest offering from Porsche before my wife and I take off on a long tour to the canyon lands.

Sometimes you get funny faults when you try to lock the car before the door is closed. It was the same way on the 9x6 and 9x7-1 series cars.

Don't know about the PDK fault haven't run into that one yet.

Thanks Loren! That sure was quick. You must have a beeper tied into the posts on this site. Indeed I have tried locking the doors with the remote when a door has not been closed. I believe I got a beep when that happened. Can live with the PAS fault code, but because the PDK may not have experienced all the possible user stimuli to date, I just hate the idea of finding myself stranded in the middle of Arizona. According to Durametric, resetting the faults will not clear a fault that has not been dealt with. If this PDK fault is a fluke, then resetting all faults should not affect anything and at worst I would still get the registered fault which would likely lead to a visit to a dealer.

That code is not a PDK code according to the PDK fault finding, the scan tool is showing erroneous data or a code that belongs in Gateway controller or DME. These PDK transmissions are starting to show there true colors. There are numerous TSB's related to PDK issues. Your best bet is to take it in to the dealer and tell the manager that it has been shifting hard and clunking and over revving on acceleration before it catches a gear and that you would like to have it reprogrammed and Re-calibrated. This would give you the latest program update and you should be good to go.

Since my post, I reset the fault codes and put an additional 1000 miles on. Rechecking with the Durametric, I found no fault code associated with the PDK, however when I ran the diagnostic on the PSM, it and only this diagnostic gave me an OBC scrolling reading stating; Stability Control .... Drive off assistant failure. The Durametrics did not log any fault for this situation and showed a pass at diagnostic #0401. I have noticed no Drive off Assistant problems with the vehicle! Uphill holding with smooth takeoff has been fine. I fully expected the PDK to have some "new birth" idiosyncrocies, but did not want to find some major issue while in areas of the country not close to a dealer, hence the reason for the post. As far as I can tell, so far the PDK is working fine with no unusual attributes. At present, the only fault the Durametric is finding is the PAS fault 8005 which when I clear it, I get an OK reading until I have done a number of trips which might relate to Loren's comment regarding doors and locks.
