It's a good look, yes, but you dont need to do this. reminds me of all the conversions to make 911's look like SC's, and to make SC's look like 993's. I was never a great fan of the fried-eggs on the 996, but you know it is a unique look for a P-car and I think most folks on the 996 forum are probably into it. If not, why do so many people still own them and obsess over them. personally, I got over any angst I had re the headlights due to the backside of the C4S. I looked at changing out the front, but just haven't needed to go there. I suppose I feel a bit the same way about putting a whale tail on a non-turbo older 911. the 996 is what it is. I remember a comment Ben C. made a few years ago about just enjoying the special look of the 996. all that being said, the front end mod you noted does look pretty good. but for me, it looks too much like a 997. I'd put the dollars into a twin-turbo conversion like Birk's if I could somehow figure out how to not have my wife find out about it. I never thought I'd get in to having a 996, but after a few years it's still a blast, fried-eggs and all. good luck with whatever you decide to do. enjoy.

That is probably good advice... simmer on it and most likely the urge to do the facelift should fade. I kind of like the new round lights, and I find plenty of justification such as "it is the traditional porsche light; it just looks better, etc.). But I also remember that the first time I saw them I did not like them at all. And, if you ask any kid out there, they generally discard the newer lights and favor the eggs (don't they say kids speak the truth? :D).

I am not opposed to a conversion but it too often people regret having done it. Hey, I am starting to like my 99's slender nose. It used to be "lame", now I apreciate the almost retro look :)
