Hi guys,

yesterday, i jumped in my car (1987 Boxster). The sun was shining, no rain. I started the engine and the windshield wipers started to work. I pulled it down but it did not stop. I pushed it up and pulled it down again but it is still working...

The thing is - i can choose between speed 1 and speed 2, but intervall and stopping it is not working!

Looks like the steering column switch has a problem. Do i have to get a new one (part# 996.613.217.10 ? - speed control, no bord computer) or would it make sense to open the part (if possible) and get it maybe fixed or could it also be another part that is not working?

Thanks,

Simon

PS: The only way now to stop the windshield wipers from working is pulling out the fuse...

Similar thing happened to me last week-end, with the turning signal. I picked-up a complete switch unit (gently used) for $30.00 on eBay. It's in the mail and will install it when it arrives.

Tool Pants you´re wright - i have a 1997, not one of the first unknwon 1987 models...

Thats the same problem i have. I checked the old boxster threats but not the 996 ones.

I will check this later today. I was not sure about the relay. Hopefully this will solve the problem on a cheap way.
