About a month ago I found a 2004 Turbo Cab that looked promising. I went up to see it, drove it, made an offer. It was declined. Two days later a price was agreed upon over the phone contingent on a PPI being done.

They said they'd take it to a place to have the PPI done up in The City that I picked. It was in the afternoon so the shop only got about half way though - the on-the surface-examination. The PPI shop needed the car for another hour or so, but the seller came and got the car back since the car would have to be out of their possession overnight. No real problems so far.

That evening the seller calls me up and tell me that he's got a buyer for it with the money and ready to take it without a PPI. He's trying to push me to waive the second half of the PPI. I advised him that he'd better take that other offer.

The car reappeared on eBay tonight. Same seller. Same original asking price.

If you happen to be looking at a gray on black 2004 Turbo Cab in San Francisco, and are interested, PM me and I'll share what I know.

Regards,

John

I have a similar (or not) story with an '04 Turbo Cab in the Chicago area. It's red "Guards Red" and currently listed on Autotrader.com. I had the car inspected by Joe Rizza Porsche and came back with a number of issues. The dealership advised against the purchase so it was money well spent. Let me know if you're looking at this glam girl and would like to see her rap sheet... ;) No strings attached - just glad I got a different car and avoided headaches down the road.
