rubber plug behind battery on 987?

There is a large rubber plug directly behind the battery on the firewall. Can i run my extra wiring for my amp through this plug? Looks like it to me but what do i know? Thanks

Yes, you can cut a small slit in it and then fish a wire down behind it, into the car behind the front radio console...

If you remove the plug, what do you see behind it?

I didnt get that far and would have to remove the battery to access the plug. I have not yet recieved all my stereo stuff so i have not yet removed the battery. :)
