As I mentioned in my prior post, I am looking for new wheels to go on my 2007 boxster S. My search has lead me to either look for used OEM wheels or replicas. My question is with the TPMS sensors... When I inquired about a new set of these to go on another set of wheels I was informed they run about $500 just for the sensors. Does anyone know how the computer in the car would react if I were to install new wheels w/o sensors? If there would be an error message constantly flashing, I do not think I could live with that, but if it simply just did not give a reading that would be okay as I normally do not keep the tire pressure on my little screen.

Thanks guys!

You can turn off the TPMS in the BC, on every start the message TPMS OFF will appear, it's all in the manual.

I believe it will give you a warning message on your dash because the antenna will not be picking up a signal from the wheels (hence detecting a malfunction.) Don't know if there is way to defeat or override this though...
