I was wondering if there was a replacement bulb for the "driving" lights (below headlight in picture) to a "whiter" bulb that would match the color of the Xenon headlights.??

I feel that the standard bulb is too "warm" in color temperature. It's just an aesthetic thing but I think it would look cleaner if the two light were approx the same color temperature.

Thanks !

Check out Sylvania Silverstar lights. The Sylvania site is very informative in this regard and has a specific bulb replacement chart for Porsche cars.

The sidelight bulbs should be a phillips blue vision , a slightly blue tinted version. Unless you can find a decent LED replacement that includes a bypass resistor to give a value when the bulb check test is carried out , you will get a warning light on the dash with an LED replacement. If you go for the darker blue tungsten bulbs you may fail your loacal road test assesment as they are not visible during daylight / dusk . I upgraded my hi beam bulbs to a blue tinted bulb to give a whiter light. No extra illumination , but they match the xenon colour temperature better.

I've been looking for a "whiter" driving light bulb, too.

Sylvania doesn't appear to offer a "Silverstar" in the H8(?) bulb. I think the Silverstars run closer to the 4k-4.5k light range, but I don't see anyone who offers it (Hella, Sylvania, others?).

Would be interested to hear a brand/part no. from anyone who has found something that looks good.

Are we talking about the hi beam driving light or the sidelight DRL units here? I have a blue tinted hi beam bulb in my 987 with xenon headlamps which matches the xenon gas discharge colour very well. The DRL or sidelight bulbs I used are LED items with built in resistors so they dont throw bulb errors. The blue tint on the hi beam is similar coating to that found on the OEM supplied phillips vision sidelight w5 bulbs. You get no loss or gain in vision using these bulbs just a different light colour.
