i used the durametric software on my cayenne S 03 and i get this message

fault 0166 electronic ignition starting switch.

Fault code 0166 Electronic ignition starting switch

Possible cause of fault

- No signal/communication (no communication between control module and ignition starting switch)

- Electrical fault in electric circuit (plug contact problem)

- Short circuit to ground or open circuit in wiring

- Short circuit to B+ or open circuit in wiring

- Short circuit to ground

- Short circuit to B+

- Open circuit in wiring

- Electronic ignition starting switch faulty

- Control unit faulty

Unless you are having a problem with the car I would reset the fault and see if it returns.

It might have been caused by changing the battery. If it comes back then you need to go to the KESSY control module plug and check the wiring for corrosion or damage.

I've checked and change the battery but the problem stays.

I also checked the wiring but i couldn't find something strange.

I'll try to change the electic ignition switch in case that is faulty because some times when i put the key the instruments are not getting started.
