I'm the 12 hour old owner of an 05 997 coupe with 25K miles that shows the System Fault warning message suddenly this morning. Does anyone have a feeling about whether it's safe to drive the car or risking damage? Thanks!

Welcome! :welcome: :welcome:

Depends on what the fault is. As self-protection, some faults cut power to allow you to limp home or to service facility.

Duratec or other systems can tell you what codes have been thrown. PST-2 or later PIWIS at service centers do this best.

Good luck!

As stated it depends on the fault. If the check engine light is on it's ok to drive, but if it's flashing get it towed. Does it not have warranty? Let them sort it out.

Thanks for the Welcome and the feedback! Next stop dealer, try to get to the root of the issue.
