How to remove defroster covers on top of the dash? The workshop manual simply says to unclip after removing alarm readness cover, but I'm not sure if I can simply unclip without breaking it.

:help:

Remove the visors and the A-pillar trim. The trim just pulls away. Some people also remove the side vents - I do not.

The cover for the alarm lifts up and towards you.

Start pulling up on the dash trim from the middle and work your way to the side vents. Look at your new trim and you will see plastic prongs on the bottom. These prongs go into metal clips under the trim and that is what holds it in place.

If you have not removed the vents then put the new trim in starting at the vent side. At the vent side the trim has a tongue that goes into the vent. This is why some people remove the vent. Stick the tongue into the vent and then start pushing the trim in place, working your way to the middle.

Thanks! Great tips as always. :notworthy:

Now I removed them successfully and they will be painted in silver to match other silver trims. I will post a pic when it's done.

Hi! Any chance these photos are still available somewhere @Tool Pants? They'd be a great resource as I take on this project. Thanks!
