Hi

Before i embark on taking the car to bits anyone give me a heads up on where i can find a switched 12v source to tap into behind the dash/centre console. (e.g which colour wire!). Sure i can find it once apart but just looking to save some time if people have done this before.

There is a cell phone connector with a three prong connector behind the center stack of the 986. Has switched, unswitched and mute. Access by pulling out upholstery panel by driver's right calf.

Not sure if it is there on 987s. Easy if it is!

Andrew:

Apparently there is no such connector in the 987 where there was one located in the 986: http://www.ppbb.com/phorum/read.php?6,1044...654#msg-1044654

Take a look at that thread for a possible alternative approach.

Yet to have a go at this yet. But tapping into a empty fuse posistion in the fuse box seems the best way that ive seen.
