Tried search and came up with nothing, hope its not a repost.

As I got tired of the Turbo look that I achieved last year, I'm planning on convert my 955 CS into a 957 GTS/Turbo look.

Hope this thread will help me and the others that are planning to achieve that.

what I want is to make a list, like the one for Turbo conversion, now for 957 conversion.

A list that will include front fenders, front lights with/without Xenon, front bumpers, grills and daylights, fog lights, rear bumper, end tips, stop lights - and how did you managed to make them work, rear upper spoiller, fender wideners (dont know the right words), and all everything that is needed to complete the conversion.

So, those that have completed please dig in.

THIS ARE THE OEM PARTS FOR THE NEWER 957 Cayenne S or V6.

I should add to this list the mirrors and maybe I had missed some small parts, but anyway this is what you need to make it work.

I'm trying to do the same thing currently. I have a 2004 Cayenne S (Lapis Blue on Gray). Here's what I have done so far:

1. Replaced the 18" wheels with 20" Cayenne Sport Design wheels for a sportier look. Yes, 21" would have been more authentic, but I got a hell of a deal on a used set of 20's.

2. Had the brake calipers painted red by a local mod shop, provided them with "Porsche" decal templates from Rennline for the white lettering (tip: get the largest ones they offer for both front and back, they turn out great).

3. Tinted the front windows to match how the rear ones came from the factory, which REALLY improved the look more than I expected.

4. Replaced the amber side markers with clear ones.

Right now I am trying to find the rear tail lights that match the new look. eBay has a bunch but the knock-off artists put two clear lenses on each instead of just one. About two months ago one of the sellers was making them with just one clear lense, but now I can't find them. I just now sent a message to each of the largest sellers to see if they can provide them with just one clear lense.

Here's my agenda for the remainder in the order I'm going to do them:

1. Install a set of LED running lights (available on eBay, search "Cayenne running LED")

2. Replace the factory rear spolier with one that has a GTS-look (courtesy of the knock-off artists on eBay and my local body shop)

3. Install a set of H&R lowering springs (The 957 GTS is about 1.5" lower than the 955 S)

4. Install Remus Sports Label Exhaust System for better sound/look than stock. I researched this a lot and ultimately decided Remus had the best solution.

Ultimately, I'd like to replace the front/rear bumpers and add side skirts, but that's down the road a bit. There are quite a few interior upgrades I'm getting in the short term but those aren't really relevant to the GTS look (with the exception of the headrests with the Porsche crest).

This is a project car to say the least... but I love it and it gives me something to do : )

This has been done by Kurt at Carnewal in Belgium but he will not give a parts list. There is some fabrication also required since the new parts will not mount by themselves on an 04 frame.

try his website it used to show the conversion

it is funny, on ebay - Germany there are at least two or three that are selling these kits every week.

Actually, these are not kits, are just parts that are beeing left when they do the MAGNUM conversions cause most of the don't include the front fenders which are mandatorry.

Also, didn't knew about custom work and fabrication just for the rear led lights.

There many 955, in europe I see them from time to time, who went through the process and now are shinning like beautifull 955 GTS or TURBOS.

I will try trace the parts through the parts file, and I'm pretty sure that the 955 frame is the same as the 957, as also many other parts.

maybe with some help from you, we can arrange a nice list that will be helpfull for many, and so the secret will be spread.

- offtopic-

did you knew that the NA V8 engines have the same Forged crank as the Turbo ones? the turbo use different heads, pistons and conecting rods. so we have STRONG NA engines :)

thougth this was funny thing to share, IMO.

So, i just wanted to let you know that i have started my conversion- it will be a 957 CS. Got the rear bumper+tips+mountings and its plug&play. I need to source now the front parts- front fenders+ lights+ front bumper. I would like to get for the front all the Tequipment parts available for this 957CS.

How did you do? The 957 and 955 tips are different...

Do you have parking sensor?

Any pics?

I've didnt do it; its in progress of sourcing parts. All the big parts I've got are from local listings, like craiglist. So, hopefully in the end it will be cheaper. though, for fins, nountings, brakets, etc I'll gor for new.

so far I've got the rear bumber and the tips, from a guy here who went with the turbo rear end, my gain - paid round 700usd. The rear muffler is the same.

I dont have parking sensors, but this is waht I'll do:

I've got an aftermarket parking sistem. It's got 4 sensors. I have another 2 that I'll use as for looks.

Now, these sensors are smaller than the holles, so I've got the OEM support for these. I trimmed mine and glued theme inside so it lokks like OEM ones :)

I'll post pictures later.

I need to find out if there is any way to program the rear tails to work with the 957 OEM LED tails.

and the biggest achievement for this day is that I've found the front bumper, COMPLETE! with turn lights & fog lights, all the wires and all the other inserts. these were used for less than 3k miles, because he's got the front from Gemballa :(

will pay close to 650$ :)

chears.

here is picture of the rear end that I've got

Currently doing the conversion as I crashed my car..

For the tail light, i went to an electrician, who rewired it and now its ok.

You can also find a control unit at HOFELE, but its quite expensive and its out of stock

The 955 and 957 parking sensor and the tail pipe are different, must be cut and welded

thanks.

I will go to a guy here who's got very good skills in doing TIG weldings, as the tail pipe are different as you said. I want to modify my custom exhaust system, and introduce an X pipe there, instead of the H pipe that these cars come with.

Anyway, please tell me for the front parts: what else besides front bumper, front fenders, lights and their mounts did you used?

did you changed the big front mount? here is called "TRAGER" - the one that hold the radiator, etc...

what DIY besides wires this process involves?

Posted

I dont know what is this part, if you can find a pic..

you will need

'WINGS MOULDING' L and R

'WHEEL HOUSING LINNER' L and R

'FRONT BUMPER SUPPORT' L/R

'Front bumper guide rail' L/R

air intake inserts

in the lightning set, you also need fod light, side repeater, indicator...

Posted

this is the part that I'm speaking about. is the braket that holds all the front pieces toghether: it holds the radiators, etc... and the part number for this one is different than for the 955. anyway, I took it allready, as the guy who's ordering my parts allready ordered it. my loss.

so basically, I didn't need it, you are saying?

number 1.

Im not sure but think the old part can be fit with some adjustments..

with your help I have concluded a part list for this conversion.

some might not want to achieve the newer CS design and might want to get the GTS looks, but I went with the 957 CS look.

this are the parts that I've ordered so far, some of them I already got them. the list is not complete but I'm getting there.

I went with the Halogen lamps, instead of Bi Xenon ones, because my car didn't had Bi xenon from factory, so its way easier to make the wires.

the list doesn't include, just for the moment, the rear bumper parts needed. I got mine as I showed before, complete.

but its just a matter of time. I'll post also the part list for converting it into a GTS or TURBO.

Are the lighting harness completely different than the 955? Wondering what is involved with the Xenon wiring I currently have. Also do you think it is true that you will need to make some custom parts to attach panels?

Posted
I currently have a 957 v6 loaner if there is anything that is non damaging, I can take a look if you need it.

whats "loaner" stands for? like borrowed? :)

if you have one 957, you can check the wirring for the headlights. I dont currently have them, I'm waiting for them. But its not that difficult to remove one. the newer headlight support is way better than the former one, in design. the part that release the headlight is simplier and tougher. I have received them and they look way better, I mean you wont brake appart that easy this one. I've changed them on the 955 because for some reason they broke - the small "transfer case" broke and I was loosing the front lights while driving. I've seen more than one that had this fault part.

So, to release the headlights you will need just a screw driver and you have to pull it away.

another thing that you need to keep in mind is that the 955 headlights have trun indicators inside, while the newer ones have them in the front bumper. so far I have discovered that diy jobs needs to be done on the electrical harness.

the panells, hope you are meaning the front fenders: there is one part that i've got and didnt put the part number here, will be soon: its a mtal support for the fenders from the upper part. some peoples are just drilling the older ones.

I have another thing right now that bothers me, the side indicators harness. I need the bulb support, and I hope I can use the former ones that I have.

can anyone tell me if this the code for it: 95561291310.

if you have one 957, you can check the wirring for the headlights.

Yeah, a loaner is what you get from a dealer sometimes when you car is in the shop getting repaired. Kinda like a rental car, but it is included with the work they are doing on my CS. Sure I can take a picture of the headlight wiring for you this weekend.

that sounds great, so if its a loaner you can do pretty much what you want with it :)

can you unplug and send me the wirring?

jk.

couldn't stop myself for not posting.

thanks for helping.

:) Here are the pics, looks like a few more things will be needed, like wheel wells, rear bumper brackets, etc.
