Ordered a set of body colored headlight washer nozzles from Eric @ Bumper Plugs. Anybody have info on how to safely remove the nozzles? Just got the car New Years Eve, tried to (gently) pull the chrome covers off but no luck. Hoping not to have to dismantle the whole front end...

Your profile says 03 C4S but you are asking here in 997-2 - so please which car?

Oops. Just got a new 997.2, still have the 996 as well. I'm looking to R&R the nozzles on the 997. Off to update my profile...

Well, not much for 997-2 service manuals yet.

From PET it almost looks like they can be removed by rotating them - perhaps 1/4 turn or so. Be careful to not force them.

On the 997-1 you had to remove the bumper cover and take the whole nozzle body off.

Thank you Loren. Think I'll wait until the painted version arrives, inspect and "reverse engineer" the removal so as not to damage -

good day. has anybody succeeded in removing the washer nozzles? Serrotab what eventually worked for you? did you get your painted nozzle tips? pics please. In removing has anybody confirmed loren's suggestion of rotating 1/4 turn??

We have more clear instructions now....email me anytime or order the nozzles and we'll send 'em with the units.

Can be done without bumper removal. Sorry don't have it with me here - but will try to post again tomorrow with details.

First remove head lights to gain better access to the nozzle opening.

Insert a small flat head screwdriver (with tape on the head to prevent damage to nozzle) into the opening in the nozzle head and pull the spray nozzle up and out (there is quite a suction on the nozzle so a second pair of hands is useful here to hold nozzle up from the stalk when it is up)

Hold the nozzle head at the top and disengage the catch on the spray nozzle with a very small (watchmakers) screwdriver. The nozzle head is released. Insert replacement nozzle into head (locks into place) and release nozzle, which returns to its original place.

Refit head lights

Eric's instructions are accurate, however I R&R 'd the nozzles without headlight removal. Used a small tool similar to an allen wrench with a 90 degree bend at the end to lift the nozzles. Hold on tight as Eric mentioned; there is indeed a strong spring retraction force. I clamped the nozzle off with a pair of plastic fuse-puller pliars to assist in removing the OEM chrome version. Once I figured out to lift the nozzle without complete bumper cover removal as directed by the dealer, the whole job took about 15 minutes...
