i have a my00 996 cab. i've been planning this for weeks, reading everything i could find on the obc 4th stalk hack. i ordered all the parts from sunset and i really thought i was good to go. so today i performed the 4 stalk obc hack and now the oil level indicator doesn't illuminate and when i cycle through using the 4th stalk nothing happens. all the wiring for the obc hack uses the white connector, does anyone know if the oil level indicator uses the white connector as well. i'm wondering if i did something when i was inserting the molex connectors. i ran #2 to #20, #3 to #21, #4 to #22, #5 to #25 and ground to one of the ground connectors located behind the instrument panel. i'd really appreciate any insight into what i've done wrong. i'm really bummed. thanks.

Oil level comes in on the blue connector. So, my guess would be that the connector is not fully seated (most common) or the wire is pinched.

Did you do the ground wire also?

thanks loren. i might have pinched the blue wire trying to seat #2 into #20. i attached the ground to one of the ground connectors behind the instrument cluster. does that sound right? i noticed that someone said that the ground should go to an electronic ground but i wasn't sure what that meant.

i just looked closely at the oil indicator and i discovered it's working it's just not illuminated. i must have either a bulb out or a bad connection. regarding the 4th stalk not working- all my connections are correct right?...does it seem like my ground is bad?
