Hello there,

I have a 2005 porsche 987 and recently the hazard warning lights are on permanently with the battery connected. The hazard warning light switch wont deactivate it, and i have tried disconnecting the switch but the lights still will not switch off.

Any help would be appreciated

Wasn't the turn indicator as all the hazard warning lights are on.

I've now tried locking/unlocking the car leaving the various alarm activation(front/rear trunk, soft top locking handle, glove box, compartment sensor) points open. Only the front bonnet lock gave no horn. A quick clean sorted that but the hazards are still come on.

Im wondering if i need an alarm reset?

I would suggest a scan with the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester. RFM makes a good point about possible alarm faults.

I would also be suspect of the headlight switch since a bad one is know to cause odd lighting problems.

If the durametric gave an error code with the alarm or associated inputs, would resetting clear the fault or would it still have to go to the main dealer for investigation?

I can still drive the car on trip of less than 5 mins before the hazards go off

I am right to assume if i managed to solve the problem by chance or it cleared of it own accord , the hazards would not continuously flash?
