I switched out my 19" Porsche turbo wheels for 20" HRE with new sensors on my 09 Turbo. I am getting a "TPC inactive" (tire pressure control) error message, even after puting about 50 mile on since the switch. The TPC is reading the psi of all four wheels correctly.

Is there any way to fix this message so it acurately reads the new wheels and shows no errors?

Is there a way to manually enter the parameters for the new wheels?

Is there a way to disable the TPC message?

I just had 20's put on my 06 Carrera. I sounds like possibly your installer didn't program for the new wheels correctly. My installer used a reader to tell the system there were new tires. The system only allows for 18 or 19 inch but it really doesn't matter that you have 20's. What's important is that the new tire pressures need to be inputted then the system has to be put into "learn" mode. When you first drive the car you should get a message saying "TPC inactive" and then below it should say "learning" I drove the car for about 20 miles then the system went back to normal and the tire pressure warning light went off.

Are you getting a 'learning" message?

I hope this helps.

Merry Christmas :D

Thanks for the quick reply. Let me clarify a bit. I actually did the install myself with new sensors and I did get the "learning" message before I did another reset (maybe I did not wait long enough). I guess the next question is (for anyone), is how do I manually put the system into "learn mode" so I can input the new wheel values, or is this something I can't do without going to the dealer.

If your not getting a "learning" message and it still says "TPC inactive" you will have to re set it. I'm pretty sure you have to rell the system what your new tire pressures are.... You could go to any good indy or high-end tire and wheel place that has a reader. You don't have to go to the dealer. That is unless you have a very good realtionship with them...Then they might do it for free.

Good luck!

Ok, I selected the winter tire option and it learned with about 10 miles of driving. I guess the summer option was preprogrammed for the factory wheels.

They look awesome. :jump: What a beautiful car :clapping:

How much do the HRE's weigh? Are they lighter than your stock wheels?

I noticed very little difference in ride quality with the 20's. How about on the Turbo?

Thanks for the pics!

weight is pretty close to stock

Front - 22 lbs per wheel

Rear - 24 lbs per wheel

I do not notice a difference between the Turbo stock 19s and the HRE 20s. In fact, I was looking for a difference in feel beacuse of my past experience on my 06 997S. On my 06, I noticed a huge difference in feel in the stock 19s Carrera Classic Wheels and my upgraded Avus 20s.
