hi!

I bought a double din gps/stereo to replace my stock navigation system on my 2000 carrera 4.

The stereo shop could not find a adapter for the new system (which he says is standard wires)

he called his supplier and was told the porsche had fiberoptic wires and adapters were very hard to get and very expensive...

Is the better way to innstall it to rewire from scratch the speakers directly to the new deck? or do you know a place I could get this adapter.

BTW, are the stock speakers of good quality or it is a good investment to change them

The fiber optic system (MOST) started with MY03 Carreras/Boxsters. You should be able to install your nav system with few problems.

trieullionaire, a RennTech member, is the authority on the subject. I used his installation kit to install a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 in my MY02 Targa (with Bose). There are several threads here you can reference.
