First and foremost, thanks for the very informative board and the tips/hints I have used in finalizing my selection.

Now on the the details!!! :D

A 1999 C2 that is black on black with 72K miles.

It has been been very well maintained.

It has the full service history along with the RMS being done with the 60K service along with the new clutch.

Now my issue. :angry:

The radio (CDR-210 with 6x40 HAES amp) will cut out occasionally.

I am almost worried that it is a alternator/charging/voltage regulator issue, but after doing some checking, the voltage at the battery is pretty much a constant 13.5 when warm. When cold, it is higher.

I do notice a very slight 'pulsing' of the exterior lights and interior dash lights, so not sure if that is related....

Any tips would be awesome!

I am not afraid to do my own diagnosing and wrenching, so sock it to me!!

Sometimes the face plate gets a bit of corrosion, just enough to cause an intermittent problem. Take the face plate off and clean the contacts and that may solve your problem.

A surge in light brightness is a textbook sign of trouble in the alternators regulator. Cleaning the faceplate contacts may have fixed the radio but the radio isn't going to effect the lights. Keep an eve on the voltage gauge and if the alternator goes wacky you'll notice massive voltage fluctuations.

I have found all of the DIY info for replacing the regulator.

I will watch it, but might just replace it since it is a cheap part.

Congratulations on your purchase. Good looking car - I would say that as mine looks exactly the same except for the clear lights

Beautiful car :clapping: . One suggestion,,,swap your orange side markers for clear or smoked ones. Super easy to change and will make your new toy look even better.

Look on Ebay. I got OEM smoked versions for my 997 for a very good price :D
