So I have read everything about avoiding the 04 CS unless under warranty. Would you guys still avoid these if all the repair work has already been done? I guess the main things are the coolant pipes and the transaxle. Any thing else to check for? I am looking at 2 cars, both with around 40k miles on them. Look forward to peoples thoughts.

04 with 40K has a lot of life left in it, i am at 99k from new and its reliable. Battery will need replacing if its original. Check the birthdate, after April 03 is better, the rest you know about

I have an 04 CS -- bought with 56k miles this past March '09 -- it's a CPO. No problems at all. An excellent vehicle. I love it. And this site makes a Porsche purchase that much better. Mudman is spot on -- 40k is very low miles. Lots of life left in it.
