Does anyone have a diagram of the "Secondary Air Injection System"? I've had my check engine light come on with the codes - P0410 P1411 (Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction) Has anyone had this problem too? Please help.

Gilbert,

I got your email and responded. These are the same codes I had and I replaced the MAF sensor. Unfortunately, my light just came back on. Let everyone know what the dealer estimated and told you; I'm sure you'll get some useful feedback.

Anyone,

If the MAF is not the issue, what else would cause these codes?

Thanks,

Nader

Could be anything in the picture above.

According to the OBD II Manual:

Secondary air injection Pump fuse.

Secondary air injection pump does not work.

Air supply lines restricted.

Electric change-over valve does not work.

Air change-over valve does not work.

Vacuum system leaks.

I have a '98 with the same codes; just replaced the MAF and the CE light is back. From the diagram above, what is the most likely problem??

Thanks,

Nader

I spoke w/another shop and they said that a previous customer had a similar problem. In particular, the 97 ECU was not compatible with the 99 motor and he had to replace the ECU (very expensive). Anyone heard of something like this?

What parts have to be removed to access the change over valve and check valve for replacement? The sit under the intake manifold and looks difficult to get to.
