What size tires should I get?

I am looking at buying some 19" rims for my 2003 C2 but am not sure of what size tire to get. The rims are 19x8.5 and 19 X 11. I do not want the rear wheel sticking out too far from the rear wheel well. The guy i'm getting the wheels from says that the 11" wide rim will fit with no problems is he right? He also suggested tires sizes of 235/35/19 for the front and 275/30/19 for the rear. Is a 275mm tire wide enough for the rim? Please help the new guy out haha :D

I run verdsteins and 295/30 rears with 235/35 front 305 fit and have heard 325 fit also but cannot atest to that.

WoW those look great! is your car lowered at all? how wide are your rear rims?

From my own experience, 11" rear wheel width is ok at 67 offset. That is what I am using on my 996 C2. You can go down to 60, but you might get rubbing issues. However, if you want to keep the correct 996 rear tire overall diameter while using a 19" diameter wheel, you need to use either 275/30R19 or 315/25R19.

If you are using 275, you shouldn't run this width on an 11" width wheel. On a 11" width wheel you need 295 or 315. 295 is the wrong rolling diameter and 315 is too wide for a narrow body 996 in my opinion.

So, I find, that the best solution is either run a 10" width wheel so that you can run 275, or use a 295 tire (997 sizing) and you will have to accept the increased diameter.

WoW those look great! is your car lowered at all? how wide are your rear rims?

Thanks and No car is not lowered but the 19's fill in the wheel arch gap better without suspension changes. The rears could come down 1' more and the front 2" in my opinion. They are 67" rear offset and 50 something in the front. As you can tell by the original bridgestone's vs the verd tires that the verds have a larger sidewall and are not stiff which gives a nice ride.

I like a little gap in the wheel well. I think yours sits perfect! Do you have a picture of the side of your car where you can see both front and rear? My C2 is also black but I am putting on black wheels with a polished lip.

Forgot to mention that I run 11" rears. With 19's your car sits about 1" higher so it seems getting the CG back down alittle is a good thing.

Great job looks great... what rims, tires and sizes? Any rubbing up front at full lock right or left? I think like mine it needs to come down some but, that's another day.

Yeah I think its sitting up a little high, it looks like mine is higher then yours for some reason. They are 235/35/19 in the front and 295/30/19 in the rear and my wheels are also 11" wide in the rear and they do stick outside the fender just a hair. If I were to do it again I think I would go with a 10" rim in the rear but I do plan on getting a Turbo soon so I will just switch these wheels to it when I get it and they should fit perfect :D

This picture is the 997 turbo rims with 235/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear that I blieve is the stock set up for the 997 turbo. At least I think I saw it listed that way some place. I am certain of the 30 profile in the rear with the 35 in the front. I have worried about rubbing the wheel well skirt since a drag car I had before would pull that trick when on the gas. Watch for the wheel wells rim slicing the tire by checking tire and the wheel wells rim for deformation since that is your concern. I think my suspension is stiff enough but always checking is the best thing to do. None of us want a problem at speed.

From the looks the rears you have 2" gap which is ample room and from what I can tell the stock suspension is stiff compared to many cars I have driven although I have seen potholes the size of sink holes so always good to check periodically.
