I'm new to owning boxter, I turn the key and nothing happens, battery ok lights etc. work,is it the switch that the clutch pedal contacts so you can start car or is there something else I can check?

By-pass the clutch safety switch to eliminate it as a fault. The ingition switch is also a source of many problems and has been updated several times over the years.

bypassed the clutch switch,still will not start, was told I could jump start off the starter with cables from battery but don't know how or which terminal to put hot wire to, any thouhgts ?

Do the normal (all dash lights) turn on when you turn the key?

If not, it is likely a bad ignition switch.

When I turn key everything lights up the top goes down etc. , bypassed clutch switch still won't start, tried to jump start by pushing but got nothing . any other ideas ?? thanks Don
