I disconnected the PSE connection in the engine bay so the the PSE would be "on" all the time. I would like to cover the connector and receptical so that debris and dirt will not get in there.

What kind of material should I use that will be resilient to the heat? Certain type of plastic? Some type of cap?

Would a normal platic baggie melt in that enviroment?

I don't really want to use electrical tape because the adhesive will get on the connection surfaces.

In the attached photo it's the connector with the orange cap.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks !

I'd use rescue tape or a similar silocone product. It's self fusing so no sticky mess. It is temperature resistiant as well. Just make sure to clean the connecter surfaces before you use it; it doesn't work as good on dirty surfaces. They also have lots of different colors which is nice too. Kind of pricey when compared to duct tape or electrical tape, but well worth it IMO.
