hi all

im having a nightmare right now and really need some answers

the p1341 code has come but im confused

using durametric system reads as follows

at start up cam 1 angle is at 13 degrees then goes down to 0 and when warm actual values are as follows

cam angle bank 1 @ 0.00 /0.5 fluctuates

cam angle bamk 2 @ 0 dosent move at all

cam deviation bank 1 @ 12/14 fluctuates

cam deviation bank 2 @ 0 dosent move at all

i use my car every day and she has just gone through 130,000 miles and is still strong i love her very much shes my dream machine

Just a guess -- but it might be the cam sprocket slipping on that bank.

the timing chain is attached to a sprocket, which has oval eye holes which has 4 bolts that connect

the sprocket to the camshaft.

If you pull the oil pump on that side of the engine see if the bolts are at the limit of the eye holes.

Generally they should be in the middle.

I don't understand the design -- seems like they would be prone to slipping. I've been

told this has been revised in future engine revisions -- don't know when they changed it.

hi guys

thanx for the replies i have been searching for days and nothing seems to b exactly what im suffering with

my engine is m9604

2000 c4 if this makes a difference

the cam slipping is a new one on me ill do some more research on that

i hope that somebody can give me the definative answer as i hate it when the car isnt right
