On my 996 C2 I recently removed the throttle body so that I could give it and the idle control valve a proper cleaning. Job went perfectly, reinstalled the ICV complete with a new gasket and bolted the shiny clean assembly back onto the intake. Engine fired right up and all was normal. The next day I find that it starts up but immediately drops to below the normal idle and dies. Slightly better with the a/c off but very low idle and the red oil pressure light is winking on and off the idle is so low. Basically won't idle. No durametric fault codes and runs great at any rpm over ilde but sure won't idle.

Could it be time for a replacement ICV?

I can not find where the icv is on my 2000 carrera. Can you please help. Thanks

That is because you do not have one. Porsche went to eGas starting in MY2000 C2 and MY1999 on C4.

If you are having idle problems you need to to the throttle body cleaning procedure that has been discussed here many times.

I feel like moron for asking this question now. Im helping my dad out by finding out info for his car. I'm an AMG guy myself. thanks again for your help. I did the throttle body cleaning already and found a great DIY here on rennTech.org. I like this site a lot . It makes me want a p car for myself actually...
