lumpy cayenne v8

hi

i have just bought my first porsche a 04 4.5 with 50,000 miles and it is in perfect condition. the jeep is everything i thought it would be and more, BUT, there is always a but, the driving at low speed and low revs is very lumpy. i returned it to the vendor who brought it to porsche who the replaced #6 coil. This helped but did not totally take it out. i am not sure whether to replace all of the other 7 of to check the fuses or if it could be something else. i don't have any of the fault finder/readers but would like to find out more about them. i just want to enjoy the beast in it's real glory.

on an 04 I would replace all the coils and all the plugs. Dealer is trying to save money. The error messages are only there when they are completely shot most likely others are also damaged. Also when a coils goes down it can damage the plug.

Follow mudman2 advice and replace all the coils and plugs with the newest updated parts. I would first check for any fault codes and post them here.

My 2004 Cayenne S was just not right since I've had it (17,000 mi). It lacked power to accelerate itself out of traffic. Despite the local dealer's claim to have replaced all 8 coils (twice) under warranty, I ordered 8 new coils (part number ending in 005) and installed them myself. To my dismay, I found that the dealer did not replace 2 of the coils on the right engine bank, although they charged Porsche for replacing all 8. Now, at 71,000, it finally runs like it is supposed to. This made the biggest difference. I wish I would have never trusted the dealer to do it right. I would have done it myself two years ago and been enjoying it all along!
