I am experiencing intermittent 'skipping' when I play audio CD's in the slot loading player in the PCM2. I have tried to clean the heads, but this makes no difference. Has anyone tried to change the CD player inside the PCM - here in Monaco the dealer wants EUR 2000.00 to change the whole PCM!

Thanks.....

Only Cayenne with NAVI DVD reader (under the passenger seat) are able to play AUDIO CD in the PCM SLEEVE with reasonable result. The PCM SLEEVE in the Cayenne with the older NAVI CD system, are in fact specific build for NAVI use only, not for AUDIO. It will work in most cases but it's a disaster, a CD loader/reader in the back is the best solution.

Does not matter what type of audio CD I use, they all skip intermittently.

The point about the quality of the 'sleeve' dvd reader is interesting as it suggests this is a common fault. Is the Cayenne normally wired for the rear CD Changer and can I use an aftermarket changer or does it have to be Porsche OEM?

Thanks for your hep......

Whether or not the presence of the wiring depends on the car options (ROW), OEM is recommended cause the presence of a additional optic cable system and PIWIS diagnostic/program tool needed for the CD reader announcement to the system.
