Tap Water Top Off

I recently brought a 996 Targa to a very highly regarded Indie shop for a coolant tank problem. Long story short, a plastic Y needed replaced. $5.00 part!

Before bringing in (the night before) I had to top off with about 32oz of tap water from work. I told the shop this, and was expecting to have to do a coolant flush and refill. They said no problem, I didn't need the flush. They topped me off with Pink and away I went.

Now I am tossing and turning with visions of corrosion and intermix.

Should I return for a flush or much ado about nothing?

Why? If they used either of the two Porsche coolants you should be fine.

Both the old (greenish-yellow) and new (pink) Porsche coolants can be mixed.

Not unless it is really bad tap water. Porsche just says "water".

Intermix problems are a bad head gasket or a cracked cylinder liner in most cases.

Are you absolutely sure that the old greenish-yellow and the new pink Porsche-sourced coolants can be mixed? I have had two PCNA techs tell me just during the past month that if you mix the new pink with the old greenish-yellow coolant they will gel and cause great harm to your engine. They further told me that the old greenish-yellow coolant can be mixed with the blue BMW coolant without the gelling problem. Are there any factory tech update notices on this?

It has been discussed (and done here many times).

The PORSCHE coolants are compatible but other brands may not be.
