Going to do some basic maintenance to my new car. I want to change the air filter and pollen filter. The oil filler tube seems difficult to pull away from the air filter housing. I don't want to force it. Is there a trick or technique for this?

Is the pollen filter located in the same area as the 996? Is the replacement procedure the same as the 996?

Also I need to get the blake fluid changed (warranty requirement.) I don't have a bleeder so I was going to have this done. What is a reasonable charge from an indie for this?

Thanks!

1. No trick - just pull harder (and straight).

2. Yes, pretty much. The 997 has a tab that hooks over the end to keep it in place - 9x6 series cars had the tab but they seemed break the first time you used them

3. A bleeder is a one $50 investment that you can use on all your cars. I would guess you are looking at 1-2 hours labor at most shops.
